Dr. Jordan Stav '17 on Emergency Medicine in MI post pandemic

Back in March 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic started erupting nationwide and the whole country literally shut down, we started interviewing young UMHS grads on the frontlines. The very first doctor we spoke to was UMHS 2018 graduate Dr. Jordan Stav, an Emergency Medicine Resident at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Stav responded to a post we left on the UMHS Alumni Facebook page, and what he had to say is chilling and sobering. Dr. Stav spoke to the UMHS Endeavour with the proviso that he was not an infectious disease expert and was only sharing from his own experience. His story received such an overwhelming response from current and prospective students, faculty and alumni that we started an interview news feature series “Alumni on the Frontlines,” with breaking news reports about what how our alumni coping with the Covid pandemic in hospitals across the country.
