Dr. Kristin (née Riggs) Miller was in the very first graduating class at UMHS. The 2011 graduate is currently the President of the UMHS Alumni Association. Dr. Miller’s journey from leaving her hometown of Cincinnati, OH to attend UMHS in St. Kitts and her return to the USA and eventually becoming one of the most successful UMHS graduates to date is inspiring indeed. The UMHS Endeavour caught up with Dr. Miller at the end of a busy weekday. Even after a long day of treating patients, Dr. Miler is still bubbly and upbeat and has a nurturing aura and glow on her face and a twinkle in her eye when she speaks. We are happy to announce that a new Articulation Agreement was signed between the University Of Medicine and Health Sciences in St Kitts (UMHS) and Larkin University in Miami, Florida. This agreement would grant students at Larkin University automatic acceptance into the Doctor Of Medicine program at UHMS upon meeting all the qualifications set forth in the agreement. These qualifications include the following: • Completion of a minimum of 90 credits from the accredited college/university, in addition to completing all of our prerequisite courses. • Meeting a minimum GPA requirement. • Meeting a minimum MCAT score requirement. • A recommendation for admission following an interview with a UMHS representative. • Evidence of good citizenship in school and the community. • Letter of recommendation from the student’s undergraduate institution.
