In a world with inequitable access to essential healthcare, recent WHO data shows over half the global population lacks vital resources. UMHS is dedicated to fighting this. Medical students traveled to San Joaquin de Masion, Nicoya, Costa Rica to provide healthcare services. In collaboration with the UMHS Global Health Institute & Vida Volunteers, & guided by Dr. Jagadeesh Nagappa & Dr. Lata Gowda, the students applied their medical education to serve the community. UMHS students collaborated with local physicians to provide a range of medical services, including examinations, assessments, & vital sign checks.
